Tips for Making Your Kitchen Cleaning Products Last Twice as Long
Each month families spend a nice bulk of their grocery budget on kitchen cleaning products. Most moms end up spending money on dish liquid, floor cleaner, sponges, and even brillo. You may be shocked at the amount you end up wasting, and how quickly it is wasted. Below you will find a few ideas, and suggestions on how you can make your dish liquid last for a month, or even longer. Below is a list of tips that may help you to save money in the long run.
Buy in bulk
Purchasing your kitchen cleaning products in bulk will save you lots of money. I have found that buying items like dish liquid, and floor cleaners, at places like Costco saves you lots of money. The fee that you pay for the membership at these places is really worth it. You will have paid for it in just one trip. The best option is to buy the store brand instead of the name brand items. For example at Costco, you will find the Kirkland dish liquid to be the cheaper option. Even brillo pads are cheaper at bulk warehouse stores.
Put spray bottles to good use
Purchase a few spray bottles from your local dollar store. These plastic spray bottles are easy to refill, and use for your dish liquid, and floor cleaners. I have found that by putting my dish liquid in spray bottles I end up wasting a lot less of the dish liquid. You only need two sprays per sponge to clean a small sink full of dishes. Just be sure to label each of the spray bottles. You can use a piece of tape on the bottle, and then write in permanent marker what’s in the bottle. I would keep the dish liquid on the sink, and the other spray bottles full of cleaning liquid under the sink.
Use the right amount
You may be surprised to learn that many of us often use a lot more than the suggested amount. Even when it comes to cleaning the kitchen floor, many mix way too much with the water in the bucket. If you stop and think about it, how many times do you really read the back of the bottle to see how much you are supposed to use?
Don’t over clean
Sometimes all your kitchen really needs is a simple wipe down after use. As a stay at home mom, I must admit it is very easy to end up cleaning your kitchen three or four times a day. A simple cleaning in the morning and a deep cleaning in the evening is all you really need.
With all of these tips, you will certainly save a lot of money. You can use your cleaning materials for a long period of time. You also no longer have to worry for the Lakeland dumpster rental for all of your excess. With just proper cleaning, you will do it right.
